Cinco - Flacco

On a day where most Raven Fans expected to see Ocho Cinco and lots of him, all they really saw was C. Johnson... and a plain Cinco. The number 5 jersey of Rookie QB Joe Flacco. His numbers will not overwhelm you (15/29 129 4 carries 37 yrd 1TD) but his composure, confidence, smarts and stability certainly should. With the bar set so low at QB in Baltimore all Flacco needed to do and continue to do is MAINTAIN. Minimize mistakes, capitalize on opportunity and keep the team in the game. It may seem simple because it is.... or is it? How many years have the Ravens been looking for a QB to do just that, seemingly forever. If game one is any indication of Flacco's fortitude, the Ravens will at the very least have a shot in many games this season. I'm not, for the record, going to get into the D and how they are the backbone, or how well the O-line preformed. I'll save that for later, hopefully. This week one win left me with one thought. Joe Flacco and not the unbelievable excitement the fans at M&T felt but the pure feeling of SURPRISE..... WHO KNEW?
